Carrie
This is my first polish from Cupcake Polish, and it’s a doozie.
Cupcake Polish “Carrie” is inspired by Carrie, specifically her blood spattered look at the end of Prom Night. At first, I thought it was just a red sparkle glitter part in a clear base…but I was wrong. It’s a thermal nail polish! Check out my ring finger and pinky – the base of the polish turned black!
Initially, I thought – of course, Carrie is vintage Halloween because it was made in 1976…but then I remembered that I ALSO was made in 1976. Does that mean I am vintage, too? I need to rest…
With all this glitter, I was expecting it to be a pain in the ass to remove…and it was. Have the exfoliating cotton rounds ready for scrubbing with this polish.
This is two coats of “Carrie” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Champagne Toast“.
Cosmic Illusion
See, this is the type of result I was expecting from “Little King Trash Mouth”! I wanted to see a dramatic transition from black to white and this polish BRINGS IT.
The polish BRINGING IT is Colores de Carol “Cosmic Illusion” from May’s Polish Pickup – It Came from Outer Space. For my first use, I wanted to see how many glitters came out of the bottle naturally…because THIS polish came with a little bag of extra round glitters, so I could create my own solar system. How fun!
This is two coats of “Cosmic Illusion” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber and then Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop”.
I Think I Have an Idea
I googled Rayman to see what it looks like and now I am traumatized. It’s this bean shaped…creature…that has a head, hands and feet. Sounds normal, right? It’s not, because there is no neck, arms or legs. I feel like I am not explaining it right – but I cannot think of another way to describe the main character of these video games…fuck Rayman for the nightmares I will surely be having tonight.
What’s the point? The point is that Fancy Gloss “I Think I Have an Idea” (from April’s Polish Pickup) is inspired by Rayman. So I googled it. And now Rayman is my new sleep paralysis demon. Oh, and did I mention that it’s a really fun thermal polish is peachy pink when warm, but a muddy purple when cold?

The Killing Moon
I am totally out of the video game world – I’ve never heard of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty? That’s the name of the game that inspired this polish from April’s Polish Pickup.
I love thermal nail polishes and Cadillacquer “The Killing Moon” is a beautiful one. I wish I had tried it with longer nails, so that I could get more of the black tips, but my daughter keeps leaving town…and doing dishes DESTROYS my nails.
This is two coats of “The Killing Moon” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop”.
Northern Cardinal
Cadillacquer “Northern Cardinal” is another outstanding thermal polish from February’s “Wild Animals” Polish Pickup. It’s very responsive – I’ve been having great luck with thermals lately. My nails were just long enough to sometimes appear to be a red and black french manicure.
This is two coats of “Northern Cardinal” over Cuticula Mic Drop Base Coat in “Melt Down” and under Cuticula Limitless Top Coat in “Raspberry Pop“. I also pulled out the Glitter Grabber, but the flakies behaved and laid very flat for me.
Nana Nenem
By Dany Vianna “Nana Nenem” is originally from last November’s Polish Pickup – Fairytales & Folklore – but I got it from February’s Polish Pickup Overstock.
“Nana Nenem” is a Brazilian song for putting babies to sleep…and the Cuca sings this song in the Netflix series, Invisible City. I’ve never seen the show, but Google is a wonderful thing. I had totally forgot that it’s a thermal polish – and it’s a WHOPPER of a thermal. I felt like Elsa wearing it! (White is warm and the dark blue comes when my fingers get cold.)
