April Birchbox – Mad Men California
My Birchbox has been sitting here at least a week, calling to me…
I admit it, I’ve only seen a few episodes of Mad Men, so I’m not all heartbroken about the final episodes. But the products in the California box were compelling. Inside my box: 12 Benefits Instant Healthy Hair Treatment; CLEAN Original Eau de Parfum (the card says it was inspired by soapy – it’s way TOO soapy smelling, but my husband liked it and actually put it on); Cynthia Rowley Beauty Brightening Illuminator (yup, another one); LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil in “Honeypot” (Honeypot!); and Not Soap, Radio Body Wash in “Bathing with sharks” (a fresh clean smell – my husband said it smells “yummy”.)
There was also a New York box – it was so hard to choose!

February Birchbox – Rent the Runway
Excuses, excuses – I got my Birchbox two days ago and am just now getting around to posting it.
I just cannot resist the specially curated boxes! This month’s curated box is by Rent the Runway, a service that rents designer gown. I was ready to assume that it was a service I wouldn’t be able to use (like Stitch Fix), but they actually carry gowns up to size 22 – and not just a dozen or so…over a hundred! The fact remains though, even with a $30 off code in this box, I never, ever, ever have an occasion to wear a Badgley Mischka gown. Just never.
I will, however, use most of the other goodies in my box: derm e Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub, Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo (yup, another one), Not Soap, Radio Body Wash in “The Stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in” (blackberry and vanilla, with added pheromones – I’ll save this for Valentine’s Day), Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner in “Raina”, and theBalm Read My Lips lip gloss in “Bam!” (I’ve been wanting to try theBalm).

August Birchbox – The Everygirl Box
This month, Birchbox was bursting with options. You could choose a special “Affordable Luxuries” Box curated by the Everygirl or the “Lighten Up” box, in which you could choose one of four samples. I went for the Everygirl Box because of one specific sample, even though some of the other products were duplicates for me…
The reason I picked the box was so I could try out Benefit “They’re Real!” Push-Up Liner. I fail at eye liner on a regular basis. For 25+ years, I have been searching for “the one”. I am hopeful that the Benefit is NOT “the one” – because a full size is $24.
Also in my box were Number 4™ Super Comb Prep & Protect (which I also received in last month’s box, but I use it several times a week, so it’s not a waste); Harvey Prince “Hello” (I received this scent in my very first Birchbox – it’s OK, but likely to give this one away); Not Soap, Radio Body Wash in “Joy Inducing” (Unfortunately, this sample leaked a little, but the lemon sugar scent was so good that I didn’t care); and Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub Sea Kelp + CGF (I LOVE a good, hard exfoliation).
Birchbox also gave sweet little compliments when addressing our boxes this month. I’m notable…or at least Birchbox says so.
