Fiddy Cents
Can you believe I got all this for fiddy cents? Actually, it was 46 cents plus 4 cents tax…how on earth did I get a deal like this?
I waited until the very last day to use my 20% off code to get the most bang for my buck. I’d been waiting until I got a code to get the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Prima 3000 Styling Iron ($179.95). Angie used it on my hair the last time I got it cut, and I fell in love with the idea of a tool that can straighten or wave my hair. It’s kind of hard to use and I’m still getting the hang of it, but it’s got adjustable temperatures and is difference than other irons I own. And I never, ever, ever would’ve paid full price for it.
I happened to notice several shelves of leftover Holiday Clearance and conservatively picked up a single nail polish – Sally Hansen x Jelly Belly in “Strawberry Cheesecake” ($2.49, down from $4.99).
In addition to the 20% off, I’d been saving my Ulta points for months and months…I’d saved up $144.50! I used them all on this purchase, which is how I got it down to 46 cents.
I also got a surprise packet of coupons for achieving Diamond Status. There was a coupon for ANY full size Clinique foundation, as well as a coupon for $25 off a Salon Visit. I used the Foundation coupon to try out Clinique Even Better Foundation in “Breeze” ($29.50). This is now my “holy grail” foundation. I’ve never had a foundation that blended this well. I applied over Make Up For Ever Step One Primer and topped with Make Up For Ever Setting Powder and my skin has never looked more poreless and perfect. The search is over!
My birthday gift from Ulta was a deluxe sample of Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara. I do not particularly like this formula – it makes my lashes bunch up together like Liza Minelli. I can make it look okay if I brush out my lashes, b ut that’s a pain in the ass, so I’ll probably just throw this tube away.
Since I bought this in my Birthday Month, I got double points…so, I guess I got one point. Just $1,149 to Diamond for 2021.
Elmo Pubes
I really don’t know how else to describe China Glaze “On the Nice List”, except that it looks the bathroom floor after Elmo gives his fuzzy balls a trim.
When I first applied, I thought “On the Nice List” was a sparse microglitter, but upon closer inspection, it’s a sparse micro bar glitter. This is two coats over Glisten & Glow Ridge Filling Base Coat and under Glisten & Glow Top Coat. I probably could’ve gotten full coverage in 3 or even 4 coats, but I didn’t want to totally torture my nails. It’s so friggin’ hard to take of glitter polish, especially bars.
7 down, 5 to go – I’m on the home stretch, baby!
January Sephora Play! – Stress-Free Beauty
Oh, no matter how up to date I am on my posts, Sephora Play is always gonna be running late!
January’s theme is “Stress-Free Beauty” and includes products for your relaxation rituals.
So I wonder if Sephora knew that Kat Von D was jumping ship, when they put together this box? Did they know and use it as an opportunity to offload liners with the old branding? Or did was the move truly a surprise? Who knows? In any case, I have another Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner in “Trooper”.
Also in this month’s box: Cover FX High Performance Setting Spray; Glamglow SUPERMUD Activated Charcoal Treatment Mask; Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion (I JUST got this in October’s box!); Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer; and Giorgio Armani Beauty Si Passione (gross and stinky).
This box was meh. Sephora – do better!
Sephora Play gives you 5-6 prestige samples a month, for just $10! You can sign up at sephora.com/play.
Unwined
I finally found a solution for my shampoo problem!
My shampoo problem isn’t that uncommon – I buy matching shampoo and conditioner, but I always end up with more shampoo than conditioner. These little packets will be the solution to my extra shampoo issues.
These little Deep Conditioning packets from HASK were on clearance at Walmart for $1 each, down from $1.98. Each packet should give me two applications. I picked up 5 of them to start, although now I’m regretting not buying more. I wanted to try them all: HASK Greek Yogurt Color Protection Deep Conditioner, Sweet Escapes by HASK Vegas Baby Deep Conditioner, Unwined by HASK Sauvignon Blanc Shine & Nourish Deep Conditioner, Unwined by HASK Pinot Noir Repair & Moisturize Deep Conditioner, and Unwined by HASK Brut Rose Color Protect & Hydrate Deep Conditioner.
Of course, I already tried the Vegas Baby Deep Conditioner. It made my hair unbelievably shiny and bouncy, and it also smells amazing. Yeah, I definitely need to go back for more.
